Our 2004 7th round pick secures his future with a new $10M deal.

This is a regular Friday feature combining a healthy mixture of observation, analysis, and foresight on the Vancouver Canucks. If you'd like to get at me about anything covered in this column, follow me on Twitter at @yyjordan and let's start a textual relationship (wink).

A monster about to come alive again.

Cam pointed out after the preseason win over the Coyotes that the Army had published 344 posts since we last recapped a win.

It hasn't been quite that many since my last writing, but it's not exactly far off either. I haven't been in hockey mode for a long time, so it's good to be back. Excuse me while I shake off the cobwebs.

In my view, if we were to draw up an off-season priority list of what will help the Canucks win more games next season, the coaching situation would be near the bottom of the list. But professional hockey, in some ways, is as much about public relations as it is on-ice success, and someone needed to be held accountable for the 1-8 playoff record of the past two seasons. Unsurprisingly, that someone was Alain Vigneault.

Mike Gillis never sleeps, cause sleep is the cousin of death.

Well, another disappointing season has come and gone for the Canucks. Whether you want to bring out the microscope and analyze what went wrong or just forget that it all happened, at least you now have several weeks of stress-free playoff hockey watching ahead of you! So there's that, but not much else.

Anyway, allow me to send you off into the sunset with the final installment of Canucks Quips for the 2013 season. Fair warning: it's sort of an epic mishmash of emotions.
