I don't know if you've noticed, but the Canucks are having a hard time scoring goals. They have been shutout four times in five games, and though they have been getting some chances, there is major cause for worry if you're hoping to turn things around. Will it be a proven veteran notching the next one? A lucky bounce? Who knows. I decided to have some fun with it and ask our writers who they think will be the next to light the lamp.

Much like earlier in the pre-season, the topic that is sweeping Canucks nation is still Jake Virtanen. Should he be sent down or should he stick with the team? It's a big debate, but perhaps the surprising part is he isn't the only one we're talking about. Nikita Tryamkin has yet to play a game this season, but he refuses to go down to the AHL. What should the Canucks do there? I decided to ask our writers to see what they thought about this.

The Canucks are 4-0 and at the top of the NHL. We all saw this coming, right? Wait, 4-0 not 0-4? Well then. It's very early in the season, but regardless, seeing the Canucks at the top of the standings at any point of the season is a surprise. It hasn't been pretty, and it's hard to say if it's sustainable to expect the Canucks to at least keep on a winning path, but wins are wins and they go into California with a clean record. With that in mind, I asked our writers if this 4-0 start has changed anything on their perception of the Canucks. Here's what they said!

The Canucks season is upon as, and though they took a 2-1 shootout win last night against Calgary, there are lots of questions about the 2016-17 Vancouver Canucks. Many prognosticators are pinning the Canucks to finish dead last in the division (for good reason), but I decided to take it to the writers on this fine blog to see what they think. Here's what they said. (They had a lot to say)

We are just a week away from the start of meaningful hockey in the NHL, and there's a buzz starting in the city, as people dust off their Canucks gear for the upcoming season. With a new season, that means cuts to the pre-season roster. We discussed this last week, talking about who we wish stuck around for a longer look in the pre-season, but one name that we didn't talk about was Jake Virtanen. The 2014 first round pick, who played quite well early last season, has been recovering from injury, and many people think he would be served better spending some time down in Utica, where he could get top line minutes and grow as a player. With that in mind, I took this question to our writers, and here's what they thought.
