The CHL leagues trading deadlines are fast approaching, with one Canucks prospect already on the move. The World Juniors conclude tonight with Canada or US walking away with the gold medal.

Now is the time for prospects to make hay!

Carl Neill traded to Charlottetown in the QMJHL

With the QMJHL trade deadline rapidly approaching, the Charlottetown Islanders are beginning to load up to make a run at the President's Cup this year. Yesterday they acquired Canucks 2015 5th round pick Carl Neill in a trade with the Sherbrooke Phoenix.

We had reported on rumours that Neill could've been on the move since October - it was just a matter of finding the right fit.

Canucks claim Reid Boucher on waivers

It was announced this morning that the Vancouver Canucks had claimed forward Reid Boucher on waivers from the New Jersey Devils.

Boucher had been previously waived by New Jersey in early December, and was claimed by the Nashville Predators.  Nashville then placed him on waivers on January 2nd, hoping to send him to the AHL, but New Jersey claimed him back and then placed him on waivers the next day.
