Unfortunately the Canucks season hasn't gone as many people hoped. It started off with a four game winning streak, and then has kinda gone off the rails from there.
They are winning games, but have only two regulation wins, had four leads (which includes a total of 47 mins of lead time), and once score effects are calculated, the underlying data is not favourable.
The only people who may be excited about this losing skid are the sports department at USA Today who picked the Canucks to finish the season with 65 points. But as a fan of the team, it isn't fun to watch your team sputter.

The Canucks NCAA prospects have slowed down a bit, but Brett McKenzie and Guillaume Brisebois represented well in the CIBC Canada-Russia Series this past week.
Unfortunately the offensive struggles of the Canucks prospect pool continued as most were limited to a few points this week.
All that and more in this week's Blackfish!

It was announced this morning that the Canucks have recalled goaltender Michael Garteig from the Alaska Aces of the ECHL:
This move was necessitated by Ryan Miller having the flu, which Matt Sekeres revealed on twitter
Ryan Miller has the flu. Isn't at Rogers Arena for morning skate. Doubtful to dress tonight. Garteig recalled because he's closer than Utica— Matthew Sekeres (@mattsekeres) November 17, 2016

The NHL is made up of 30 teams vying for one prize. They may not all be at the same part of that process, but ultimately, the goal for every team is to win the Stanley Cup (and make money along the way).
With the implications of the salary cap running concurrent with that common goal, every team is working from the same starting point. It's an efficiency contest, first and foremost. Teams should tap into any unexplored market, and exploit any and all advantage found therein.

It's been quite the week.
The Canucks won a game since the last update, which is a nice change!
Canucks prospects continue to make noise around the hockey world, with the NCAA players being of particular note. This week you will be able to see two Canucks prospect represent their CHL league against the mighty Russian team!
It's a big week to look forward to in the prospect world, so with that we are back for another week of Blackfish!
