An early afternoon contest against the dreaded Boston Bruins was on the docket for the Vancouver Canucks today.

With hopes of securing a 9-6 lead in Game 15, the Canucks held their own throughout the majority of the game but a late goal by David Pastrnak gave the Bruins the 4-3 win.

The Canucks are now 1-2-0 after three games of this six game road trip.

Fun with the CBA! Off-Season Training

There has been a lot of discussion and dissection about Jake Virtanen over the past few weeks. After a respectable rookie season in the NHL last year, Virtanen was looking to take the next step forward an become a mainstay on the Canucks roster this year.

Unfortunately things didn't go as hoped, and he is currently plying his trade in the AHL.

It has since been revealed that Virtanen thought he had to bulk up a bit to become a more effective power forward. That appeared to backfire when Virtanen showed up to training camp weighing in at 228 lbs, and alarm bells went off within the organization.

The added bulk reduced his speed, which was one of his strengths.

Few topics garner as much attention in this market like the incoming decision the Canucks face with right-winger Jannik Hansen.

Will Vancouver trade him? If they choose not to, will they be forced to expose him in the expansion draft? Alternatively, could they trade a prospect/pick to Las Vegas to ensure they don't select Hansen in the expansion draft?

The situation calls for an in-depth looking at the situation from every angle to help for a conclusion about how the Canucks can best navigate this quandary ahead of the March 1st trade deadline.

The Canucks Have an Incoming Roster Decision

As Jannik Hansen returned to the Canucks' lineup Saturday night against the Minnesota Wild, Vancouver's roster was pushed to 23 men.

When the Canucks activate Ben Hutton from the injured reserve, that will force a decision upon them as they cull the roster to fit league regulations. Luckily, the salary cap won't be a concern, as the Canucks placed Derek Dorsett on Long Term Injured Reserve. 

What should -- or rather, what will -- the Canucks do to make the grade?
