This season could be going great or it could be the muted dumpster fire that it is currently and when the Blackhawks come to town, we pay attention.
The Canucks are coming off a come from behind win in OT with penalty shot hero Ben Hutton leading the way. The Blackhawks are coming off a win in Calgary (did someone say another opponent back to back? no one? ok) so the Canucks MIGHT have a chance in this one.
But the Blackhawks have Hossa and he does alright versus the Canucks. Oh well, dream the dream.

The Vancouver Canucks are playing tonight.
They're playing the Arizona Coyotes who played last night in Calgary. That sounds like a recipe for a Canucks win. If you have already bought into this theory, this might be your first Canucks game this season. The Canucks seem to be predictably unpredictable lately -- well, not just lately -- and they'll have to put in quite a different effort to hang with the Coyotes this evening.
If you have followed my shenanigans for the last year and a bit, I am dropping a serious truth bomb: No FedEx Kinkos Pah honix youtube video this time. I know, you love it. But, I've moved on, this team deserves better, and you deserve better.
Go Canucks Go.

How does one not get excited for a game like tonight's? The Vancouver Canucks and New York Rangers do battle again in a rematch of last week's monumental bout.
Your Canucks emerged victorious in Manhattan and look to replicate that success in front of the hometown crowd at Rogers Arena. Troy Stecher is coming off his first NHL goal and Loui Eriksson just scored his second. Pat Quinn was posthumously inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, too. We're probably in line for a cool pre-game montage. Have tissues at the ready.

Hopefully, you didn't forget the Canucks have an early start time today. The Dallas Stars are in town for the first game of a busy week at Rogers Arena. By next Saturday, the Canucks will have played 4 games in 7 days, so getting a good start today might be a good idea.
Dallas is feeling good coming off a win in Edmonton so it will be a shame when the
dominant Canucks own give them a run for their money. If you haven't checked NHL.com this morning, then you don't need to know the Stars are 5th in the NHL in scoring.
This might be harder than we thought.

Trying to find two teams on the opposite end of forgettable losing streaks isn't easy. Here we are, though.
The Vancouver Canucks are riding high after an impressive victory over the New York Rangers to snap a nine-game losing skid; meanwhile, the Detroit Red Wings victory over the Philadelphia Flyers snapped a five-game slump of their own.
Two teams, renewed, re-energized and desperate to get back to normalcy. Unfortunately for the Canucks, it will take more than a handful of wins to do that.
Two in a row is a good start.
