Today's game between the Anaheim Ducks and Vancouver Canucks will be the first regular season game played at the Honda Center. Something tells me the good people of Anaheim haven't noticed the Ducks absence, though.

The Canucks lost a back-and-forth tilt last night against the Los Angeles Kings. It looked over early, but they found a way to claw back from a 3-0 deficit and get a bonus point, dropping the contest in a shootout.

Tonight, the Canucks make their way to Anaheim to face a dismal Ducks squad that has barely shown up this season. It feels weird to say that considering that line should normally be reserved for our current Canucks team. That's not the case as the Canucks are the best* team in the NHL. I bet Ryan Kesler wishes he hadn't left Vancouver now.

Just when you think the Canucks are doing well, they find a way to raise the stakes even higher. Welcome to a world where the Canucks are 4-0.

The Canucks are in California for the weekend, double dipping in the south with matchups against the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks. Tonight your Canucks look to stay undefeated as the folks down on South La Brea. The Kings, on the other hand, are headed in a much different direction than the Canucks, having just registered their first win on Thursday against the Dallas Stars.

The first matchup of the year against L.A is usually the one that sets the bar, so hopefully it lives up to the usual hype. Even though the teams are quite different than when the rivalry was heated back in 2010-ish, these are still valuable points in the Pacific division and none of these are gimmes.

Let's keep this thing going!

CANUCKS ARMY GDT# 4 - CANUCKS VS. SABRES

Sabres

Once again, the Canucks enter yet another game undefeated. Who would have thought that a Canucks/Sabres matchup would have so much riding on it? OK, it's only the 4th game of the season but how often do the Canucks open the year without a loss after 3 games?

Sure, but how many of those seasons included an undefeated record without leading for a single second of a game? Exactly. This Canucks team has been pleasantly surprising to watch and it feels like anything that happens now is gravy. Watch out Buffalo, this Canucks team is shooting for 82-0.

CANUCKS ARMY GDT#3 - CANUCKS VS. BLUES

Blues

In what surely will be an absolute barn burner at Rogers Arena, the undefeated Vancouver Canucks take on the undefeated St. Louis Blues. This has Tyson/Holyfield hype written all over it. The Canucks are coming off, dare I say, an impressive win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday and there has to be some kind of momentum building for this club.

Bo Horvat was reunited with Sven Baertschi and Jake Virtanen and surprise, surprise a goal came out of the group. Tonight we'll see if the Canucks can continue befuddling their fans with another strong outing.

It's early but what if the Canucks are semi-good?

I'll stop.

CANUCKS ARMY GDT#2 - CANUCKS VS. HURRICANES

Hurricanes

The Canucks roll into tonight with a shiny W to their credit but having been the last team to even play a game this season, they are playing catch up and draw their first back to back. The Carolina Hurricanes are in town with our old friend Eddie Lack. He'll be manning the pipes this evening so hopefully there's a bit of love coming his way.

That being said, the Canucks love it when the Hurricanes come to Vancouver. Since 2009, Vancouver is 6-0-2 against Carolina at Rogers Arena. Last night's win hopefully has built up some energy for puck drop tonight.

The critics say 65 points is the ceiling for the Canucks this year so they might as well get those wins out of the way early.
