Ducks

The Canucks are back in action against the rival Ducks. Old friends Ryan Kesler and Kevin Bieksa return to Rogers Arena with their fowl folk and just in time too, the Canucks are red hot and looking for their next victims.

With injuries up and down the roster, Vancouver should be doing a lot worse than they are; the opposite is true. Goals are coming from everyone, and the fans are happy? Rebuilds, who knew?

Wild

The Canucks are riding a one game winning streak as the Minnesota Wild come to town. Let's not get too excited here, we have a long season to go still. You know that Alex Edler is out for awhile so it's all hands on deck and that isn't exactly reassuring.

Both teams are at opposite ends of the Western Conference and with a Canucks win this evening, Vancouver is within striking distance of the playoffs... which start in April.

Man, what a heartbreaker last night was! The Canucks look to bounce back this evening against an Avalanche team that has bounced around both win and loss columns in the past week or so. Things aren't so bad if you look and realize the Avalanche are TIED with the Canucks right now in the standings.

That means both of them are struggling to be competitive. It's the first meeting of the season between these two teams and if the Oilers can beat these guys, so can the Canucks.

Let's do this!

The rush of beating the Coyotes is still fresh, and the Canucks take that momentum into Dallas to face the equally lowly Stars.

A few interesting things have happened since the Canucks last played: Vancouver started their Black Friday deals early by signing Ben Hutton to a 2-year deal, and Philip Larsen is apparently getting back into the lineup (soon). The Stars will want to redeem themselves after blowing a lead in Vancouver the last time these teams played. You remember it well, Troy Stecher with the self-pass and the Stecher-bomb to tie it regulation. Your boy Markus Granlund ended it in OT, and that was it.

Vancouver is only 3 points back of Dallas, so this is a pivotal matchup that could put them in sniffing distance.

If not, there's always a moral victory to be had.

The last time these two teams played, your Vancouver Canucks prevailed in overtime courtesy a Ben Hutton penalty shot. His slick move put the Canucks further away from this year's grand prize: Nolan Patrick. Today's a new day and the Coyotes get to play host this time. Does Hutton have an encore play in store or does former Canuck Radim Vrbata get his revenge?

Canucks... Coyotes... TONIGHT!
