The red-hot Calgary Flames come back to Vancouver to battle the Canucks in what we can only imagine will be a test of supreme strength and skill. Calgary, having won four of their last five games including the pre-Christmas drubbing, take on a Canucks team who themselves are white hot by winning their last five straight games.
With the Blue Jackets losing last night, the Canucks now have the longest win streak in the NHL. Like any of us were surprised.
Bring on the Flames!

The Vancouver Canucks go for five wins in a row tonight against the Arizona Coyotes and I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty freaking excited! They've already equalled their best streak of the year at four games but this is uncharted territory for Willie Desjardins' crew.
Thankfully, the Coyotes are in a funk so bad even the NFL's Cleveland Browns are spotting them a lead (you know, if you could play teams in different sports). Arizona has lost seven straight and the Canucks have never looked better.

Happy New Years folks!
Your Vancouver Canucks are holders of a 3 game win streak and it feels pretty awesome! It's evident that there are still plenty of things to fix with this club but they're getting better results. Tonight, the Colorado Avalanche come to town sporting the worst record in the league.
This also means the Canucks probably won't be in on Nolan Patrick this year and with the Avalanche's season already in the dumps, the rumours of Matt Duchene and Gabriel Landeskog getting traded will once again start heating up.
I suppose Vancouver could use either of those guys.

The Canucks are the 3rd hottest team in the NHL right now after a sizzling 3-2 OT winner against the Ducks last night (Blue Jackets and Wild are the other two but you knew that). The Oilers are coming off a big win against Milan Lucic's old team, the Kings. It has the makings of a championship bout after the undercard is played (again, Jackets and Wild).
I can't think of a better way to finish off 2016 but to read this action packed GDT and watch said game it is about. It's not the Flyers and I doubt the Canucks lose 8-0. The Canucks DO have to fly to Edmonton for this one so there's a chance the first period goes poorly because of the shock of being in Edmonton.

welcome play the Ducks this evening in Anaheim's second game of a back to back. Can Vancouver take the double dip and go into their New Year's Eve game on a hot streak? Loui Eriksson is back on the board, Ryan Miller just played an all-world game and Alex Edler just got another batch of sticks so this one is about to be lit as the kids say.
We might even get a 13 round shootout!
