Quick Hit: Michael Garteig Joins Canucks System

The Vancouver Canucks have seen plenty of shakeup in the goaltender department in the last few weeks. 

The team is likely to lose tenured goaltending coach Roland 'Rollie' Melanson following a missed 2016 postseason - leaving the club looking for a new coach after years of using the esteemed instructor - and brought top prospect Thatcher Demko on board via an ELC after his junior season with Boston College. 

Now, they've added yet another piece to their depth chart in Michael Garteig, a fourth year NCAA goaltender out of Quinnipiac University.

Friedman, McKenzie: On the Canucks Going into the Trade Deadline

This morning, Elliotte Friedman of Hockey Night in Canada and Sportsnet.ca brought up some interesting points regarding the Vancouver Canucks and their potential mindset heading into the upcoming trade deadline. 

His comments were then supplemented by a suggestion by TSN's Bob McKenzie; where Friedman posed the possibility that the Canucks are going to be sellers, McKenzie presented the scenario that the Canucks are one of 10-15 teams still interested in Jonathan Drouin. 

So... where does that leave the team?

Canucks Army Postgame: Misery

The Vancouver Canucks came into their Monday night game ready to face a team that had gone 1-7-2 in their last 10 games, just fired their head coach, and couldn't seem to score a goal to save their lives. 

So, the Canucks did what they do best - they ended that losing streak for the Minnesota Wild with a nice, heady 5-2 loss to the Central Division club.

Since I sat right above the Canucks moms - and heard how rowdy those ladies got every time things got too rough for their baby boys - I feel like this kind of special game deserves a special kind of recap.
