Today at Canucks Army we looked at how the Canucks might fill out their coaching ranks, wondered whether or not the club could and should get involved in bidding for the services of Kris Letang, looked into Garth Snow's reported "Rick DiPietro for Roberto Luongo straight up" bluff, and recapped the latest developments on the flimsy Luongo trade market, including Bob McKenzie's report that the Canucks will not use a compliance buyout on their star netminder.

If you thought my John "hot dad" Tortorella jokes were a bit much, then I raise you this Courier article which praises both John Tortorella and Alain Vigneault's (?) hotness, focussing in particular on Vigneault's "burly, tanned husk and subtly sophisticated threads." Yes that's a real quote, and yes it's okay if you just threw up in your mouth a little. [Canada.com]

Draft guru and friend of the blog Corey Pronman has put together his first ever mock draft, and he did a hell of a job on it too. He has the Canucks selecting J.T. Compher at 24th overall. [Hockey Prospectus]

Manny Malhotra knows he'll have to earn his way back into a regular role in the National Hockey League, and while we wish he'd go to the John Stevens route and join Nolan Baumgartner as an assistant coach in Utica, we wish him all the best. [The Province]

The News 1130 team talks to a business analyst about some of the decision making issues facing the Canucks at this years draft. [News 1130]

Elliot Pap ruminates on the notion of the Canucks buying out Roberto Luongo. [Vancouver Sun]

I wrote about Mike Gillis's late round draft strategy and how changes in the collective bargaining agreement might impact it at the 2013 NHL Draft for the mothership. [Canucks.com]

Daniel Wagner looks at a bunch of recent trends in Vancouver's drafting strategy and attempts to anticipate what we might see from the club come Sunday. [Pass it to Bulis]

Finally, we have officially launched our new line of Canucks Army Gear T-Shirts, featuring the winning design from our competition! You can buy the t-shirt here and help support your favourite local indie bloggers! We've been overwhelmed by the response and are already getting close to selling out, so act quickly! A reminder that a portion of every shirt bought will be donated to our preferred local charities (we're going to donate some to Five Hole for Food and some to Calgary flood relief).

Also if you're so inclined you can like CanucksArmy on Facebook and get all of our most recent posts injected directly into your minifeed!
