Not sure where this is from, or what it is precisely. I do know it owns.
Today at CanucksArmy we kept pace with coaches week and profiled Guy Boucher, we also talked about the draft and some of the new devices in the CBA available to Mike Gillis should he choose to rather dramatically remake the Canucks roster, finally we passed along the Bob McKenzie report that the Islanders might be interested in acquiring Roberto Luongo, and touched on Dreger's take on Luongo's value, and whether or not the star goaltender would even report to Canucks training camp if he weren't moved this summer.
More links and assorted nonsense on the other side of the jump.
Reacting to the New York Islanders rumour, Luongo told Bob McKenzie that he'd only agree to waive his no trade clause and go to Long Island if the Islanders re-hire Mike Milbury.
So I guess we can cross Long Island/Brooklyn off the Luongo destination list...
While we recapped the days events breathlessly, because why the hell not, Islanders blog Lighthouse Hockey called a spade and spade, captioning the DiPietro/Luongo scuttlebutt with "How to start a frenzy on an off day." [Lighthouse Hockey]
The News 1130 Sports Twitter account, less adept at feeding frenzies than the hardened professionals at TSN, wondered if the Canucks might be interested in Michael Ryder this offseason. My quick take: Ryder is okay, but I've always liked him because he reminds me of an olde timey hockey player (just a lumbering guy from the Martimes with a blistering wrist shot).
Elliot Pap chats with Jack McIlhargey, a Flyers scout and former assistant coach who worked for John Stevens, the Los Angeles assistant who will reportedly be strongly considered for Vancouver's head coaching vacancy. According to McIlhargey, Stevens "definitely wants another opportunity (as a head coach) in the National Hockey League." [Vancouver Sun]
