NATION RADIO - SEPTEMBER 3, 2011

NationRadio
September 04 2011 04:00PM

There is a little something from everywhere this week on NationRadio. Red Deer Rebels talk starts it off, then it swings over to the Winnipeg Jets. Then Jason Bonsignore emerges from the mists of time to talk about his stint as an Oiler so many years ago.

Then some AHL talk and a look ahead at the Oilers special teams rounds out the week. Oh and what's that? A Toronto Maple Leafs update if anyone West of Mississauga cares to hear about that sort of nonsense.

This is NationRadio.

Segment 1

Cam Moon the play by play man for the Red Deer Rebels of the WHL pops by to discuss Nugent-Hopkins prospects for the season ahead as well as how he believes the Rebels will fare.

Segment 2

Ted Wyman columnist from the Winnipeg Sun talks 2011-2012 Winnipeg Jets hockey as the squad prepares to make its glorious return to the NHL.

Segment 3

A replay of the epic Jason Bonsignore Interview from the Jason Gregor Show earlier in the week.

Segment 4

Corey Graham enters NationRadio airspace to talk about all things Oil Kings for the upcoming season, as well as some Ryan Nugent-Hopkins updates.

Segment 5

Rob Soria from the Oil Drop blog talks 2011-12 Oilers, special teams and potential line combinations next year.

Segment 6

One half of the legendary Pension Plan Puppets and also main contributor at the LeafsNation - Julian is on the show to discuss the untimely passing of Wade Belak and provide an update on the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Is there a chance the Oilers pick up a guy like Chris Campoli? He's a capable defender who's in the prime age and is mobile. I saw an article talking about Bryan McCabe being an option but Campoli is the better overall dman as he plays in all situations and averaged about 19mins per game and didn't look out of place.

I guess the fact that Jason wore a watch while playing says it all...

I didn't know that Jeanshorts had it out with Slats. Well f*#k slats! He's running the Rangers into the ground while JSBM is a spot for the internets' most distinguished gentlemens.

Jeanshorts I believe is one of the very first ON citizens, if not he has been around for along time eh.

That pic of JBS is the one he uses for his avatar ;)

And at their website jeanshortsandbaggedmilk.com they have a thing called the Bonsignore Citizen's Brigade each game. It's hilarious.

I wonder if Bonsignore himself is an avid reader of JSBM? Brownlee shouldve asked him.

I bet Bonsignore regrets posing for this picture more than he regrets not making it to the NHL.

Changing the subject . Thought provoking ? Doing away with "pansy ass " penalties will lead to less injuries and concussions -especially upper body ! Before the "pansy ass" penalty rules became the norm , players carried their sticks higher and were accustomed to using them to protect and cover hits , etc. to the head and upper torso . With sticks now held down so frequently they have exposed themselves to more upper body njuries . Flagrant hooking and holding are not to be confused with "pansy ass " type penalties . Just seems to me , league should do away with "pansy ass" penalties in order to allow more protection to the players from concussions, etc..
