Headshots are a Canucksarmy feature where we link to the days freshest news, and other assorted Canucks web-goodies. If you've written a blogpost, made a tribute video or birthed a clever .gif into existence - please e-mail me at thom.drance@gmail.com.

Above is the helmet sticker the Canucks will wear in commemoration of Rick Rypien. Many thanks to @mhenderson95 for the image. The Canucks also announced that the team will honour Rypien's memory on October 18th against the New York Rangers.

I expect the team will announce plans to honour Pavel Demitra tomorrow. From a PR perspective it would've been tone deaf to do both at once.

Jeff Paterson has a really good take previewing the Canucks season. His main assertion: don't expect the Canucks to have as much surface level success this season, but expect them to be a "tougher" opponent.

Harrison Mooney at Passittobulis asks the question: Is Cody Hodgson a potential Calder candidate? I'm not holding my breath, If Hodgson manages to stay with the team for 60 games (or until Raymond returns), and pots 10 goals - that would be a hugely successful season in my eyes.

DownGoesBrown previews the Western Conference. His prediction for the Canucks: "the Canucks’ point total goes down, despite nobody even touching it." Well played DGB, well played.

TSN announced their "top-50 NHL players list" and Cam Charron has a bone to pick with Roberto Luongo's ranking.

The Stanchion looks at newly acquired Dale Wiese's fight-card and realizes that Dale Wiese isn't all that good at fighting. Want to know what Wiese can do? Check out my take on his acquisition from earlier today.

@Thomas Drance

projections don't really mean much, hell stamkos was projected to hit 60 goals last season at his pace, if he went down to injury would he have ranked #1st? please.

@Thomas Drance

dude, stamkos was on pace for (projected to score) 60 goals in the beginning of the season, if he got injured during that time, would he have been ranked #1??

projections can be based on the pace at which someone is on track. ie. if Sid was on had the pace of 71 points in half the season, he would be projected to have a 142 point season.
